Victoria Quarter Mosaic
This project was commissioned by ‘Hammerson’, the owners of Victoria Quarter and Victoria Gate in Leeds City centre, to work along side students from the Leeds college of Art to gain some knowledge of the process of a project this large.
We began by visiting the site and getting a sense of the area it was to sit in, photographing the surrounding Victorian architecture for design reference and also researching into the history of the building.
After the designs were decided upon I set about creating this 4 metre diameter circular mosaic in my home studio.
The photos show the progress of installation, helped by the students, over the course of several days.
