Current Work

As my work has developed over the years I have been drawn to expressing it in various ways, certain aspects of mosaic creation have resonated with me at different times. These have been in the techniques I use, or experimenting with the materials to see how certain medium work together, and the development of the designs themselves through my always changing inspirations.

My work at the moment is inspiring me and exciting me with each piece I do. I am working in a more detailed style using much smaller pieces of tile thus allowing the finished mosaic to tell a bigger story, the design within a design. My inspiration is tending to lean towards a more abstract quality from the surrounding area of Nidderdale, from the air or on land.

This style lends itself well to many images and ideas for commissions, as I am using unglazed ceramic, slate, glass and gold leaf this means many different effects can be produced.
