The 6ft Man mosaic was a commission for a Civil Engineering company in Leeds. It was based on an old sepia photo taken in the 60’s. I wanted the mosaic to have that old ‘unearthed’ feel about as if it has just been discovered, with parts of the mosaic looking as though they were damaged with age. The client who commissioned it was from Ireland so I used the map of Ireland as a surround leaving holes in the mosaic where the lakes were.
